A: As a small private school, we do not have access to financial aide.
Q: What additional costs will I be responsible for after I enroll in the school?
A: Your tuition covers the costs of all your books, hand-outs, massage insurance for a year, oils, lotions, and use of massage tables during class time. You will only be responsible for bringing 3 sets of your own sheets for use during class time and student clinicals.
Q: Do you offer job placement?
A: While we do not offer job placement, our bulletin board posts potential job opportunities in Wichita and the surrounding areas. When potential employers contact us wanting to hire massage therapists, we post it and then the rest is up to you to pursue it. The majority of our students have found jobs after completing the 150 hour Swedish Course and were working as massage therapists while completing their 500 hour Professional Program.
Q: What is the National Certification Exam for Massage Therapists?
A: The National Certification Exam (NCE) is an exam that students may take after completing a 500 hour program from a certified school that adheres to the curriculum guidelines set up by the National Certification Board. Massage therapists do not have to complete this exam to work in Wichita, but may wish to know which states require it in case they are looking at relocating. The NCE website is www.ncetmb.com

A: Currently, there are no licensing requirements for massage therapists in Wichita, KS.
Q: How big are your classes?
A: Most of our classes have been around 6 students. The maximum number of students we will take for any given class is 14 students.
Q: Are you a certified school?
A: Yes, we are a certified massage school through the Kansas Board of Regents.
Q: How long will it take me to complete the course?
A: The 150 hour Swedish Certification Course is about 8 weeks. The 500 hour Professional Program is a 6 month program. There are no clinical hours beyond the graduation date unless a student is making up missed class hours.
Q: Do I have to be strong to be a massage therapist?
A: With proper body mechanics, the majority of your pressure comes from leverage by your torso and legs...not your hands.
Q: What other costs will I have after graduation to practice massage therapy?
A: This depends upon where you work. Some places provide you with all you need such as a massage table, lotion, and sheets. If you are renting a room from someone and need to supply yourself, here are some average price ranges:
Massage table: $460-$700.00
Sheets: $15.00 - $40.00 per set
Massage Lotion/Oil: $45.00 - $65.00 per gallon
