Reiki I
Course Hours July 12, 2008 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Course Description Reiki is a traditional Japanese practice utilizing the energy forces of both the client and the practitioner. This course offers students the option to receive a Reiki I attunement and learn about the basic principles, hand positions, and energy patterns of the body necessary to provide a Reiki session. Upon completion of this course, students will receive a Reiki I certificate.
Materials The book "Essential Reiki Complete Guide to an Ancient Healing Art" by Diane Stein is included in the cost of the course.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the history of Reiki
- Know the basic principles behind Reiki
- Give examples of possible physical and emotional changes after a Reiki treatment
- Identify the 7 major chakras on the body
- Demonstrate the hand positions for a Reiki session
- Locate the still point
- Receive a Reiki I attunement from a Reiki master
- Know the hand positions for providing Reiki on yourself
- Participate in a group Reiki session

Bach Flower Remedies

Course Description This course provides students with the basic principles and theory behind the Bach Flower Remedies. Students will learn to distinguish patterns of energy imbalance, choose the correct Bach Flower Remedy, and ways to administer the Bach Flower Remedy.
Materials A Bach Flower Assessment Packet and handouts will be provided at no additional charge in this course.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the history and development of the Bach F.R.
- Know the basic principles and theory behind the Bach F.R.
- Learn to recognize and differentiate between the types of remedies
- Describe the positive quality of each individual flower essence
- Be able to distinguish patterns of energy imbalances in the client
- Choose proper remedies for yourself and others
- Explain why the Bach F.R. cannot be harmful to people
- Demonstrate how to prepare and administer the remedies
- List ways to access the resources available to get information on the Bach F.R.

Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage
Pre-requisite: current massage therapist with a minimum of 100 hours or 2 years work experience as a massage therapist.
Hours July 21, 22, 23, 24, 2008 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm AND July 26, 2008 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Course Description This course teaches the Temple Style Bodywork of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage. Students will learn a full 90 minute sequence, the techniques, body mechanics, and history of the Lomi Lomi Massage.
Materials Students will receive a Lomi Lomi massage handout at no additional charge.
Learning Objectives:
- Demonstrate the Lomi Lomi Massage sequence
- Know the benefits of Lomi Lomi Massage for the client and the therapist
- Understand the necessary draping technique for this therapy
- Know and understand the history of the Lomi Lomi Massage

Basalt Stone Massage
Pre-requisite: current massage therapist with a minimum of 100 hours of training or 2 years work experience as a massage therapist
Hours September 29, 30, October 1, 2, 2008 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm and October 4, 2008 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Course Description Students will learn a Basalt Stone sequence using heated river Basalt rocks as well as, the techniques, body mechanics, and history of the Basalt Stone Massage. Proper use of the equipment and stones will be discussed as well as using the stones as a tool throughout the massage. Students will be competent to perform Basalt Stone Therapy and earn a certificate in Basalt Stone Therapy upon completion of this workshop.
Materials 18 QT. Roaster Oven, Set of River Basalt Stones, Latex Gloves, Massage Oil, and a bound manual explaining the history and sequence of Basalt Stone Massage. All materials except for the manual are for use during the course only. No additional fees for these materials will be required.
Learning Objectives:
- Demonstrate the Basalt Stone Massage sequence
- Know the proper use of equipment, water temperature and how to clean the stones afterwards
- List the contraindications for Basalt Stone Massage
- Know the benefits of Basalt Stone Massage
- Understand the necessary draping technique for this therapy
